Chapter 1
“Tucker! Where are you going?”
Ignoring Blaire’s call for him, Tucker ducked out of the ballroom and into the hallway. There had to be a place he could get some air. This place was more suffocating than his five-hundred-square-foot apartment, and that was saying something.
There were Christmas decorations everywhere. It was as if the decorator for this place had thought people actually wanted it to look like Jolly Old Saint Nicholas threw up all over.
“Tucker!”
A hand tugged at his wrist just before Blaire launched herself into his path. “You can’t just leave like that.”
“I can’t? Who said?” His eyes got wide, and he lowered his face closer to hers. “Do you think Santa is going to put me on the naughty list?”
She made a face, her hands now on her hips. “You know why. This is the last article of the year you have to write. If you make Kane Jordan upset, he’s gonna call the office and complain.”
Tucker brushed past her. “I’m sure if that happens, you can smooth things over with Daddy.”
Blaire gasped, and he grimaced. That hadn’t been a fair statement. Blaire had done a lot to work her way up the ladder at the magazine. Everyone knew her father was harder on her than he was on anyone else. And yet… it still annoyed him that Aaron Davis had chosen his daughter to go on this trip.
Tucker couldn’t bring himself to turn around and face her after that crack about her father. She’d probably just brush it off anyway. She was like that. No one was as happy and spunky as Blaire Davis. For the life of him, he couldn’t figure out where she got it from.
Probably her mother.
Aaron Davis was the most stoic man Tucker had ever met. He was good at business and even better at personal relations, which was why he had people like Kane Jordan calling in favors.
Sweet Paradise Resort was nice. Anyone with eyes could see it.
But was it worthy of an article in the last profitable magazine printed in New York? Not likely.
Tucker shoved his hands deep into his pockets and continued on his way to the elevator. Fresh air. That was what he needed right now. He couldn’t stand the smell of cinnamon and pine any longer. He didn’t want to see the twinkling lights or the vibrant greens and reds that filled every corner of his vision.
Most of all, he didn’t want to talk to people who were so in love they couldn’t form even one coherent sentence that didn’t involve how lucky they were to have found their soul mate.
Soul mate. Ha! He thought he’d found his, but around this time last year, Annika had called off their wedding without so much as an explanation besides them being too different.
They’d been engaged for nearly a year. Annika knew him better than anyone—well, except for a handful of the people who he worked with.
Tucker punched the elevator button with his thumb, scowling as it lit up. One whole year, and he was still in a rotten mood over having his heart broken. It didn’t matter that he buried himself in work. He still couldn’t get past the ache in his chest. Annika had left a scar bigger than that eyesore of a Christmas tree that sat in the lobby.
The elevator doors slid open, and he stepped inside. Just before they closed, Blaire jumped through the opening.
Tucker glanced up at her with a bored expression. “Not this again.”
She crossed her arms, staring at him with what she probably thought was an intimidating look. “We’re only going to be here for two nights. I get that you hate the holiday and all, but you were the only one available for this gig. You could have said no, but you didn’t. So suck it up and do your job.”
He arched a brow. “You really need to work on your pep talks. I’d give this one a solid C, though.”
Blaire let out a groan and stomped her foot, drawing his attention to it briefly before he lifted his gaze to her face.
“Seriously? How old are you again? I wasn’t aware that your father hired toddlers.”
“Yeah? Well, I wasn’t aware my father hired the Grinch, but here he is in all his green glory.”
Tucker snorted. That was the very first time she’d attempted to fight back. He would have been impressed if she hadn’t gone with something so outdated. “With all due respect, I’m only representing the magazine when I’m interviewing.” He gestured around the metal cage in which they stood. “You see anyone I have to interview? No? Well, then, I don’t have to be on my best behavior. I don’t appreciate Mr. Davis sending his daughter to babysit me when I could have handled this all on my own.”
Blaire scowled at him, her lips pressed tight. Her eyes flashed with fury, but at least she wasn’t trying to compare him to the abominable snowman.
The doors opened behind her, and he moved to exit, but she blocked him. He frowned. “Excuse me.”
She shook her head. “I’m not letting you leave until you agree to change your attitude.”
“You’re not my mother.”
“No, I’m not. But I’d wager if your mother saw the way you were acting, she’d put you in your place too.”
Adam edged around Blaire on her other side, taking her off guard. “Don’t presume anything on a subject you know nothing about.” His mother was a whole different issue upon which he had no intention of dwelling.
He charged through the lobby and made it outside just as the first snowflakes drifted lazily to the ground. Something was off about it, though. Outside, with white flurries in the air, he had assumed the temperature would be cold enough to nip at his skin. But it wasn’t.
There was almost a strange warmth surrounding him—as if he wasn’t in the mountains at all. It was as if he were in a picturesque snow globe instead.
The ice-skating rink before him was filled with several people of all ages. Christmas music blasted from the speakers. The sidewalks that led around the property would soon be dusted in white.
Tucker should probably have felt something—the spirit of the holidays that everyone talked about.
And yet he felt nothing. There was no joy in his heart this time of year. December was just like any other month. He’d get this puff piece written then go home and hide away from the world until the new year. That was the best he could do under the circumstances.
Tucker leaned against the brick building and let his eyes close for a moment.
Deep breaths.
He could do this. It was like Blaire had said. It was only going to be two nights. Then they’d be on their way and out of this holiday prison.

2. Merry Mistletoe Wedding
3. Christmas Cookies and Coworkers
4. Maid for Mistletoe Mix-Up
5. A Sweet Paradise Holiday Reunion
I really enjoyed A Sweet Paradise Holiday Reunion. It was fast paced, quirky, and a fun story to read. While we all understand love rarely happens as quickly as it does in stories, I still hoped Kate would resolve her trust issues and give Liam an opening to confide the truth. I was frustrated by his need to take the blame, but appreciated his conviction to keep trying. We all carry a burden we shouldn't. If love is mature and unconditional it doesn't walk away.
Wonderfully immersive storytelling that as with all Hope August books it’s a mighty compelling read too. Whenever I see that she has a new book out , almost shout with glee. This is what they mean to me. This book was no exception
When the last Stone doesn’t roll ,a lady comes to call. She’s all about making wayward types like he ,how to be .He thinks she’s lovely . And to be together maybe? Well look and see . I’ll tell you now ,it’s a wonderful storyline and executed perfectly divine . Bookboyfriend you’ll want to say ,can he be mine .
This is book five of the Cornerstone Ranch series. It’s a sweet cowboy, slow burn, love on a bet, ranch romance. This was a sweet read with all the feels that check all the boxes. Well-developed characters that you will fall in love with and root for their happy ending. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
A charming, fun cowboy romance. A great story that draws you in immediately and was easy to stay engaged with. I enjoyed watching Caleb and Sarah go from "just for fun" to something so much more. Wonderful writing, realistic and entertaining. Loved it.
I loved reading The Cowboy’s Tattered Heart by Hope August so much. It was a fast read that I simply couldn’t put down, the story pulled me in right from the start. Definitely a must read for anyone who loves heartfelt romance.
This is book four of the Cornerstone Ranch series. It’s a sweet cowboy, slow burn, love on a bet, ranch romance. This was a sweet read with all the feels that check all the boxes. I loved the characters. Each had a reason for their initial reluctance for a relationship and for changing their minds. Fear kept them apart more than anything else did.
I also loved seeing the change in the brothers from where they started. They all seem closer and more supportive than they had been when we first met them in the first story. This story was predictable but enjoyable.
This is book three of the Sweet Paradise Valentine series. It’s a sweet nannay, Valentine’s Day, ranch romance. This was a sweet read with all the feels that check all the boxes. Well-developed characters that you will fall in love with and root for their happy ending. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is part of an interconnected series with characters that overlap throughout this series and previous books by Hope. It can be read as a standalone but better if read in order.
Warning!! Hope threw in a heart wrenching couple of scenes so have some tissues ready.
Forbidden romance
Opposites attract
Matchmaking little girl
A major misinterpretation
I wish their story continued a little longer but maybe they will reappear in a future book??
Best friends to more I do adore and this book in time for Valentine’s is a cute storyline with all the allure that’s synonymous with Hope August’s storytelling and what’s more it’s always a compelling read . This being no exception to the rule . In fact he’s so darn sweet to his bestie Bridget he made me drool… not testy at all . Ms August ,I had a ball reading this it’s absolute bliss.
This sweet, best friends to more romance will warm your heart. Beautifully written with charming and wonderful characters. It was heartwarming and fun to watch their relationship change because neither saw a romance between them coming. An adorable story filled with heart, love and HEA Valentine magic that will leave you smiling.
This is book two of the Sweet Paradise Valentine series. It’s a sweet best friends to more, one bed, Valentine’s Day, ranch romance. This was a sweet read with all the feels that check all the boxes. Well-developed characters that you will fall in love with and root for their happy ending. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

While this story had some fun moments, it's not as light and goofy as the previous stories in this series. I really enjoyed it.
Each main character was already attracted to the other, but this trip showed them that the feelings were returned.
I love that they are each willing to sacrifice something they want for the other.
This is my voluntary review of a copy I was given.
The main characters, Bridget and Foster, were kind and supportive of each other. They obviously loved and valued each other as friends. Romantic feelings between them weren't a thing until this trip.
I enjoyed watching them navigate that unsettling state between realizing they have romantic feelings for the other and deciding to risk losing their friendship because of those feelings.

It was supposed to be a romantic getaway with her boyfriend. When he cancelled she went anyways
Surprise arrivals

Snapshots of future main characters
Loved it. Bridget and Foster are an adorable couple. Best friends dancing around their growing feelings for each other. Loved Bridget’s drunken confession but not so much the next morning. Both needed to get some wise advice from others. Great story.
This is the first book in a new Interconnected series that is a spin off from other books by Hope. Reading in order recommended but can be read as a standalone.
Friends to more
Secret crush
Online relationship
Multiple mixed signals
This is book one of the Sweet Paradise Valentine series. It’s a sweet cowboy, slow burn, match making app, friends to more, secret identity, ranch romance. This was a sweet read with all the feels that check all the boxes. Well-developed characters that you will fall in love with and root for their happy ending.
Cute story about best friends in love with each other. Arden has loved Poppy for years. She has him firmly in the friend zone. Until……. I’m not going to spoil things for you. Arden’s plan could backfire spectacularly. Fun story to read.
This is my voluntary review of a copy I was given.
Arden and Poppy work together at the resort. They have been friends forever, but he's feeling more than friendly towards her.
As they spend time together preparing for the Valentine's Day event, and Poppy gets to know her online match, she realizes she's already in love... with Arden.
This was a really sweet story. I really liked it.
A sweet and adorable cowboy romance. The cute characters really pull you into their story and keep the pages turning. I loved the writing! A great story and wonderful entertainment you don't want to miss!
Could any couple have a more inauspicious start. Wyatt really tells Emma exactly what he thinks about her and the farm she has bought. They really annoy each other. Both have family issues that affect their relationship. Good story with well written characters that will hold your interest. I love that despite everything happening and being told she has made a huge mistake, Emma continues to build her dream.
I received this book from the author and this is my voluntary, honest review.
Just read The Cowboys Tattered Heart. It was a wonderful romance. Can't wait to read about the five grandsons and their lives. Really excited to see how Luke's life turns out.
This is my voluntary review of a copy I was given.
What a tough situation for the main characters. They both loved Katelynn and now feel guilty for being attracted to each other.
There are other issues between them. Harper's grandma lovingly encourages her to open up to Colt, while his brothers prod him to do the same.
This story was emotional and unpredictable.
From loss comes love
A very sweet story that sees Robert receiving even more tragic news in his life that seems to overwhelm him.
Having to be the guardian of his boys five sons leaves him with more responsibility than he can handle.
In comes Paige, the nanny that the agency has sent to help him.
They have much in common and the boys seem to love her straight away.
Robert starts feeling again which scares him.
Can he get past the fear of committing to Paige allowing them to face their problems together?
Or will he throw it all away and hurt the children by doing so.
A short enjoyable story with wonderful characters.
Snowfall Over Sagebrush is a sweet small town, opposites attract, cowboy, Christmas romance with no cliffhanger.
Some of the lines I really like are ---- Why was she so gat-dang stubborn ---- "Even if we were in another state that didn’t have mood swing weather—” ---- “Construction puts food on the table. Horses bring me joy.” ---- “Chivalry will never die as long as the woman a man cares for is willing to accept it.” ----
Will the Dude Ranch be completed on time? Will they get snow that will stop everything? These and other questions will all be answered.
I loved Laura and Riley's story and I'm sure you will too. This is my first book by this author and I can't wait to read another one of her books.
